Dear Ali,


I want you to know that I love you.  I never wanted you to leave me.  By now I hope you are beginning to figure things out for yourself.  Your room is waiting for you, exactly the way it was on the morning of September 11, 2001 when you went to school and never returned.  All of your pictures, your Awana stuff -- everything is just how you left it. 

I pray for you every day.  I pray that you are safe and happy and have a good life.  I pray that you will be able to be a part of our lives again some day.  Until then, I will be here for you, for whatever you need.

There are some people who might think it's a bad idea for me to write a letter to you for the public to read -- or for you to read, for that matter.  I've never done anything wrong other than love you and fight for your well being.
